Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, without error in its original autographs. The Bible is written by men, but every word originated from God. We can trust that our Bibles record the very words of God. The 66 books of the Bible are alone our final authority, in that they are the highest rule of faith and sole authority on all matters they speak on (2 Tim 3:16-17; 1 Thess 2:13; 2 Pet 1:20-21).

We believe that God is three individual persons that make up one being. Thus there is one God, but three persons that are individually God: God the Father (Matt 23:9; Eph 1:3; Luke 23:46) Jesus the Son (John 8:58; John 10:33; John 20:28) and the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 3:17; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14).

We believe God created men and women in his image (Genesis 1:27; James 3:9) and therefore believe every human life is sacred from the moment of conception to one’s last breath. We reject any teaching that undermines the created order of humanity within the distinctive male and female sexes (Gen 1:27; Deut 22:5; 1 Cor 11:3-16). Every human being is inherently valuable to God regardless of ethnicity, skin-color, sex, wealth, or any other distinction (Col 3:11; John 3:16). We believe partiality based on such distinctions is sinful and unjust (Jam 1:1-4; Lev 19:15).

We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin (Mat 1:18; Luke 1:34-35) lived a sinless life (Heb 4:15; 1 John 3:5), was crucified and three days later resurrected (Acts 2:23-24; Luke 24:26-27). Anyone who puts their faith in Him, trusting in His sacrificial work on the cross alone for redemption, will be saved from eternal damnation and enter into eternal life in heaven instead of eternal judgment in hell (John 3:16; Luke 23:43; Matt 25:46; Matt 25:41).

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone, and not by works, such as water baptism or the sacraments of a religious system (Eph 2:8-9; Gal 2:16; Rom 3:28). We believe that without repentance there is no faith; one cannot truly believe in Jesus for salvation without a turning away from sin and submission to Christ as Lord (Acts 11:18. 2 Pet 3:9; Luke 13:3). This does not mean we must be perfect or stop a certain amount of sinning before we can be Christians. It does mean we must recognize we have sinned and are willing to follow and obey Christ. While living on this earth sinless perfection is not possible (Jam 3:2; Phil 3:12; Rom 7:15-20).
